JANE GOT A GUN: Natalie Portman's Long-Troubled Western Finally Gets A Trailer

After having faced a multitude of delays due to losing a director, cast members and, more recently, Relativity Media’s financial woes, it appears the now Gavin O’Connor-directed Western, Jane Got a Gun, has cleared those hurdles as The Weinstein Company’s newly-acquired feature has today released a new international trailer.

Back in 2013, the Natalie Portman-produced project had set Michael Fassbender in the role of the protagonist and Joel Edgerton as the antagonist. Fassbender eventually exited and Jude Law was brought in as his replacement, however, at the time there was a role reversal going on with Law suppose to play the villain and Edgerton moving to the hero role. Director Lynne Ramsay (We Need to Talk About Kevin) was set to helm, but dropped out just as production was to begin. This prompted Law to leave and Bradley Cooper came on board, only to be subsequently replaced by Ewan McGregor. Portman’s involvement was constant.

In the film, Portman stars as Jane Hammond, a woman who has built a new life with her husband Bill “Ham” Hammond (Noah Emmerich) after being tormented by the ultra-violent Bishop Boys outlaw gang. She finds herself in the gang’s cross-hairs once again when Ham stumbles home riddled with bullets after dueling with the Boys and their relentless mastermind Colin (Ewan McGregor). With the vengeful crew hot on Ham’s trail, Jane has nowhere to turn but to her former fiancé Dan Frost (Joel Edgerton) for help in defending her family against certain destruction. Haunted by old memories, Jane’s past meets the present in a heart-stopping battle for survival.

Jane Got a Gun premieres November 25th in France and is set to arrive sometime in February 2016 for the U.S.
