Since the reveal of the film’s first poster and official title reveal a couple weeks back, several promotional photos for Logan have made their way online. While the majority of the shots have been unknown set locations posted on Instagram, there have been some looks at the cast of the film, too.
The first was Patrick Stewart as a very old looking Professor X, shared by director James Mangold, followed by a first look at the character played by Boyd Holbrook, which was captioned in an Instagram photo as “Pierce.” Though unconfirmed, this has led fans to believe Holbrook is playing Donald Pierce, a cyborg supervillain and leader of the Reavers in the comic books.
The most recent of photos, however, belongs to our first look at Stephen Merchant as Caliban, the albino mutant with the innate ability to “track” other mutants. This marks the second time the X-Men supporting character will appear in a movie following his big-screen debut in this summer’s X-Men: Apocalypse, which saw Tómas Lemarquis in the role. Caliban first appeared in “Uncanny X-Men” #148 in 1981 and over the years has been both hero and villain.
Finally, we have a look at one of those Reavers we mentioned above. The Reavers are a team of cyborgs — humans who have received bionic implants to enhance various aspects of their physiology — and have clashed in the comics with the X-Men since the late 80’s.
Check out the photos below, and look for Logan to hit theaters on March 3, 2017.
