Paramount Pictures has tapped model-turned-actress Kelly Rohrbach to play “C.J. Parker” in the upcoming Baywatch movie, reports Variety.
The character, made famous by Pamela Anderson on the cult 90s TV series, in turn, made Anderson a household name.
Rohrbach, meanwhile, majored in theater at Georgetown and attended the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA). She quickly found work on various TV shows, including “Two and a Half Men” (CBS), “Rizzoli and Isles” (TNT), “The New Normal” (NBC), as well as the female lead in “The P.E.T Squad Files” (CW). She has also taped the television pilots “Love is Relative” (NBC) and “Rush” (USA networks), and previously landed a role in Woody Allen’s currently untitled, upcoming film.
Rohrbach joins headliner’s Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron in the Baywatch movie, which will also star Alexandra Daddario in the role of “Summer” (originally portrayed by Nicole Eggert). Seth Gordon (Horrible Bosses, Identity Thief) is directing with Damian Shannon and Mark Swift having provided the most recent draft of the screenplay. Plot details are unclear, but previous reports have eluded to the studio taking a comedic route with the movie.
